The National Sea Rescue Institute of South Africa is dedicated to rescuing those in distress in our seas and some of our inland waters. The NSRI is among the world’s oldest sea rescue organisations, and is proud of its non-racial and non-sexist history. The Institute's more than 940 highly trained volunteers help to keep South African waters safe.

We respond to people of vessels in trouble in some of the most difficult sea conditions. The seas around the Cape of Good Hope are not known as the Cape of Storms for no reason. Visit the NSRI main site for complete details about the NSRI.
